In Athens We...

...VOTED!

...went to the Acropolis!! It was beyond amazing.

...stayed on the same street as the President's Mansion, so walked by it, and its guards, all the time!

...saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of Parliament

...strolled by Hadrian's Arch a few times

...observed some effects of austerity, including this rose garden which is now overgrown

...walked through the National Garden and Zappion Park many times

...bought nuts from street vendors

...saw a LOT of graffiti

...worked, worked, worked, worked, worked

...went to the National Archeological Museum, can you IMAGINE? It was incredible. Chris and I could spend days. Otis....not so much.

this is actually a picture of how I look trying to get other people do to their schoolwork

When you next see Chris, ask him about pottery in ancient Athens!

you don't know what is going on here, but it involves Aphrodite, Cupid, an argument and a faun
...said farewell to our bottle of spicy pepper flakes that we'd had since Tuscany. It helped make a lot of meals more delicious.

...walked up Philopappou Hill for a great view of Athens and the Acropolis

...went to the Acropolis Museum (Chris and I got to go twice!). It is a really amazing and interesting place and doesn't allow photos of its collection.

I'm peering at the ruins under the floor.

Otis went big in the museum store

...missed the parade for the Day of No (Oxi Day), but arrived in Syntagma Square for the afterward (i.e. not much)

...saw amazing antiquities *and* a Ai Weiwei exhibit at the Cycladic Museum

...enjoyed koulouria on the floor of the Athens airport

(Bonus: admired the amazing central area of the Abu Dhabi during our stopover after leaving Athens airport)
