CATS OF CROATIA (edited)

Many people who know me know that I am a big cat lover. So, I was in for a very happy surprise when we got to Dubrovnik. There were many stray cats roaming around the city. After a while, I started naming the cats that I saw and tried to remember where I saw them, so I could keep track of them better. There are six cats that live just outside our apartment that we stayed in (my names for them are Sun, Gracie, Fritz, Snickerdoodle, Pumpkin, and Callie) Although most of them are shy around humans, Sun comes out every morning for a game of chase-and-eat-the-blade-of-grass. It is a very exciting sport where a human pulls up a large stem of grass, and waves it in front of the cat. The cat then pounces on the blade of grass, and in Sun's case, eat it. In a town nearby Dubrovnik (we call it Old Town for some reason) there is a family of a mother and two really cute kittens. They are about three months old, and their eyes are just starting to change from blue to green. The mother is very loving and protective of them, like a mother should be, and she has developed a taste for chicken, which we found out when my grandmother came to

visit, cut up some chicken, and we fed it to random stray cats. The mother cat is Sprinkles, and the kittens are Shadow and Cookie. There are many people in Old Town who feed and protect this family, praise the mother, and play with the kittens, who attract the attention of nearly everyone walking by. They are doing well in their home, and they have many humans looking out for them.
