PERILOUS POMPEII

DURING our trip to Piano Di Sorrento, we went to the ruins of an ancient town called Pompeii, which mostly got blown to ashes in a volcanic eruption in 72 AD. The ruined remains of what didn't get destroyed were found during a construction project in the 1700s. Now,  The Pompeii Ruins are a popular tourist attraction that many people come to visit every day. But according to my mother, Jen, the real highlight of our day trip was her way-too-saucy pizza that she had at a restaurant just outside the ruins.

Anyone who hadn't chosen to escape had faced instant death when the temperature rose to over 1,000 Fahrenheit, massive earthquakes, and a pyroclastic flow that was so powerful that in buried the city in 30 feet of ash for over 1600 years. Despite all this, the ashes preserved the buildings, many items and statues, and hundreds of dead bodies very well. It was my favorite place to visit except for Monterosso Al Mare, and definitely worth coming to. If you go to the area, definitely consider checking this place out. When we went there, they had a slushee stand just outside Pompeii. If you go there, I strongly recommend mint flavor. In conclusion, it was an amazing and fun place to go especially because I had confidence that the volcano would not blow me to dust, and I hope you get the chance to come to Pompeii too.

  2. Well, I don't know. I have always been partial to 7-11 when I need to satisfy a slushee craving.
